At Weber Eye Care, we strive to provide comprehensive, thorough eye care for the entire family. Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms, but can be diagnosed by an eye doctor. With early diagnosis, in many cases treatment options can restore or prevent vision loss. The American Optometric Association recommends yearly or bi-yearly eye and vision exams, depending on your age and health.
Eye Exam and Consultation
During an eye exam, the technician and doctor will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, your work environment, medications you are currently taking, and your overall health. Family history and previous eye or vision conditions will also be discussed during this part of the examination. Dr.Weber will consider this information when determining any treatments or recommendations.
Regular vision testing ensures that you always have the clearest vision possible. Dr. Weber will refract your eyes, i.e, test if additional lenses will make your vision clearer. Depending on the results of your vision test, you may be prescribed corrective glasses, contacts, or eye exercises.
Eye Function Testing
In addition to vision testing, an eye exam includes testing eye functionality, such as tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, eye muscle capabilities, peripheral vision, and responsiveness to light. Several other tests are completed by Dr. Weber to determine whether your eyes are focusing, moving, and working together properly.
As part of a comprehensive eye exam, Dr. Weber examines the overall health of the eyes through an external examination using a special magnification device with a bright light. She continues to examine the internal structures of the eye, often after dilating the pupils. Increased eye pressure may be an indicator of glaucoma, so we utilize tonometry to measure eye pressure. After completing these tests, the results will be reviewed and any treatments needed will be discussed with you. Contact us at (920) 748-1497 today to schedule a comprehensive eye exam
